The plot is a space mission goes wrong and leaving its survivor alone to figure out how to survive and get back home. The story focuses on her mental battles and hardships along the way.

How does it imply cause and effect?

One example of cause and effect is when she is brave enough to make it back home because she had hallucinated that she had seen her former mission director Matt who told her to be brave and to keep pushing forward.

How does it use time and space?

This movie uses time by having several situations where there are time limits for Ryan to complete something in order to survive which makes it tense for both her and the audience. Space is used just by the fact that the setting is outer space and it just makes the struggles of one human seem so small and insignificant.
